Dion Cini — 50-year-old conservative activist, who arranges various PR events in support of trump has filed a lawsuit against the sports bar Jake’s Dilemma after he was taken from school for alleged MAGA cap (campaign slogan to trump: «Make America Great Again» — «let’s Make America great again»).
According to Cheney, March 6, he enjoyed spending time at the school, when suddenly he was approached by two employees of the bar. A man captured a large part of the confrontation that followed, in the video, which he shared with the users Facebook.
The footage you can hear Cheney accuses the bartender that he refused to give him beer, and said: «he said He would not serve me because I’m wearing this hat». Then the bartender tried to take the phone out of the hands of men.
«Will you give me another beer because I like this cap, right?» — asks Cheney. The bartender says, smiling: «Right.»
In the video repeatedly heard activist calls the bartender soy boy (this insult is often used in the right online communities to describe men deprived of masculinity).
Then, the guard is coming to Fix it and trying to bring him out, though the man refuses, asking: «Just because I’m wearing a red cap?» The employee answers: «did I judge you when you walked in?»
The Jake’s Dilemma representatives issued a statement about the incident a few days later after the video has garnered over 100 thousand views.
«Owners and managers of Jake’s Dilemma would like to directly speak about the incident at the bar last week and subsequently spread in social networks — it is written in their Facebook group. — We would like everyone to know that we strive to remain completely apolitical and welcome customers from all beliefs and attitudes are equally first-class level of service.»
Mitch Banchik, co-owner of Jake’s Dilemma, Gothamist has confirmed that the bartender in the video was suspended for two weeks, at the time of trial. «We were going to fire him, but decided that it was unjustified,» he said.
The owner believes that his employee did nothing wrong and that the consequences of the incident was probably exactly what has made the Fix.
«The guy [Cheney] was really very unpleasant. Before the bartender did something, he got several warnings, — said Banchik. — He provoked the situation and said it was because of his hat… He was hoping for this scenario.»
According to co-owner, they suspended the employee, because he still commented on the headdress of the client. In the video, hear the barman says, «I don’t like red caps, I only like green.»
