Trump canceled the new sanctions against North Korea

The U.S. Treasury yesterday issued a statement on the introduction of a new round of sanctions against North Korea in connection with its nuclear program. Today President Donald trump surprised many by writing on Twitter that he ordered to cancel them.

It was announced today by the U. S. Treasury that additional large scale Sanctions would be added to those already existing Sanctions on North Korea. I have today ordered the withdrawal of those additional Sanctions!

Now it is not clear that it was canceled, the media have been unable to get clarification in the White house. Yesterday mentioned, for example, sanctions of the Ministry of Finance against Chinese shipping companies, whose ships are expected to carry out transportation, in violation of previous sanctions against the DPRK. Trump adviser for national security John Bolton yesterday were delighted with this decision.

Important actions today from @U. S. Treasury; the maritime industry must do more to stop North Korea’s illicit shipping practices. Everyone should take notice and review their own activities to ensure they are not involved in North Korea’s sanctions evasion. https://t.co/AVnOPrWbH6

«Important news from @U. S. Treasury, we must stop the practice of illegal Maritime transport in North Korea. All those involved in this field should perform their own activities in order to ensure that they are not involved in a scheme to evade the sanctions against the DPRK,» he said.

All this happened in less than a month after the summit, Donald trump and Kim Jong-UN, who many thought a failure. The meeting didn’t even sit through the allotted program time. Kim left early, not staying for dinner. Perhaps the current gesture of the White house should accept Pyongyang as friendly.

On this hint, the press Secretary of the White house Sarah Huckabee Sanders. For all media questions about lifting the sanctions, she replied: «President Trump likes Kim and he doesn’t think these sanctions are necessary».

Will this gesture to a warming of relations with the DPRK, will decide whether Kim then stop the restoration of military facilities on the nuclear program, will become clear later. A week earlier, trump expressed hope that Pyongyang will stop, otherwise it will be «very disappointed» in Kim.
