In Los Angeles street with a length of nearly 4 miles (6,44 km) it was renamed the Rodeo Road in Obama Boulevard in honor of the first President of the United States African American.

It is noted that the street was not chosen by chance, because Obama held his first meeting with voters in Los Angeles February 20, 2007 in Park Rancho Cienega Park. The Park is located on Rodeo Road, just opposite W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

After the street renaming on Saturday, the President of the city Council of Los Angeles herb Wesson tweeted: «For every child who will go down this street and see the name of the first African-American President, this Boulevard will serve as a reminder that in this life nothing is impossible.»

Rodeo Road — not the first street, which was renamed in honor of the former President. In this area you can find Washington Boulevard, Adams Boulevard and Jefferson Boulevard.

Wesson advocated the renaming of the street even 2017. Final approval was received last August, 10 years after Obama made history, becoming the 28th of August 2008, the first black presidential candidate from the democratic party. The city Council voted unanimously to change the street name.

The mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti tweeted: «We are delighted that local residents and guests will always remember the legacy of President Barack Obama, traveling to Los Angeles».
