Rand Paul Blocked On YouTube For Misinformation About Wearing Masks

YouTube has blocked an account for a week Senator Rand Paul for posting a video claiming cloth face masks are ineffective against coronavirus.

“This is a badge of honor. & lt; … & gt; Left-wing nerds on Youtube blocked me for 7 days for a video citing 2 verified articles that say cloth masks don't work, «the Republican tweeted.

Paul falsely stated in a deleted video that most of the masks sold “do not work” and “do not prevent infection” by the virus, in particular by pointing to cloth masks.

A YouTube spokesman told the NYT that the video violates the company's policy on misinformation about COVID-19, which includes himself «claims that wearing a mask is dangerous or causes negative physical health effects» or that masks do not play a role in preventing coronavirus infection.

Paul stated in a separate post on the conservative Liberty Tree website: “ I didn't lie. I didn’t use swear words. I did not spread misinformation. I only told the truth about what our government is trying to do to us by limiting our most basic freedoms and using the COVID-19 pandemic as an excuse. ”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and countless public health experts Healthcare professionals, including epidemiologists, have stressed since the start of the pandemic that wearing a mask protects against the spread of COVID-19.
