Putin appointed new Russian Ambassador in USA

Today Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the appointment of the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the United StatesAnatoly Antonov.

The second position that Antonov will take part, will be as Permanent observer of Russian Federation at the Organization of American States in Washington. This is the official website of the President of Russia.

Its predecessor was Sergey Kislyak, who returned from Washington last month, having worked in the us capital for nine years.

Anatoly Antonov, who in December 2016 up to the present time was one of the Vice-Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (Sergei Lavrov), in may was approved in his new position with the international Affairs Committee of the upper house of the Russian Parliament – the Federation Council.

The Russian authorities considered that, most likely, the victory of Hillary Clinton, and therefore, relations between States will remain tense. And despite the fact that the President was Donald trump, a decision about Antonov remained in force.

Anatoly Antonov will travel to Washington August 31 to September 1 to begin work.
