The most expensive in the history of a Manhattan penthouse sold for nearly $51 million.

The largest of the two penthouses at 160 Leroy almost sold out. The sales contract is concluded and if, after the auction, the transaction will be closed – it will be the most expensive residential property ever sold in Manhattan. The price of the penthouse is $51 million.

The previous record holder was the penthouse at Walker Tower in Chelsea, purchased a middle Eastern businessman Khadem al, Kubaisi for $ 50.9 million in 2014.

Apartments in 160 Leroy occupy an area of 7750 square feet and include 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The North penthouse has ceilings height of 12½ feet, three wood-burning fireplaces, a private Elevator and huge terrace area of 5, 140 square feet with a pool and outdoor kitchen.

Building 160 Leroy designed by the famous architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron. There is a penthouse in West Village along West Side Highway.

The second of the two penthouses – South is much cheaper ($31.5 million).
