Animals, like people rescued from hurricane Irma

Cuban authorities evacuated six males dolphins from the Northern part of the country before the deadly storm. Marine animals, wrapped in wet towels, from the center of the Cable Esqui Center on Cayo Guillermo, were placed on mattresses made of foam and flown by helicopter to the South-Western province of Cienfuego, away from the storm. According to the state news Agency ACN.

On Friday, the dolphins were in a pool that mimics the natural environment of their habitat. This was told Carrero Gonzalo Escobar, head of the aquarium. He added that if the weather does not allow Pets to stay in their new temporary home, «they move to the salt water pool at a hotel.» Trainers and a veterinarian accompanied the marine mammals.

Hurricane Irma is already assigned Category 5, in which the wind speed can reach 160 miles per hour. It is expected that on Sunday he will rage in Florida in full force. Hundreds of thousands of people evacuated from the sunshine state, but the people were not the only living beings fleeing from the deadly Irma.

The staff of the house-Museum of Ernest Hemingway in Key West let in 54 cats before the hurricane. Executive Director Dave Gonzales told CNN that he and nine other employees will remain in the home of the legendary author at the time of the storm.
