From Lauren Durham was a magnificent white dress, and she planned a quiet beach marriage ceremony during the second weekend of September. Instead, she got married without makeup, in a huge hangar, filled with rescue vehicles and paramedics. And in just a few hours before heading to the center of the hurricane Irmato rescue of fellow Floridians.

Lauren and her fiancé – Michael Davis – senior pilots of the air National guard of the United States. They are caused, like many other military to help in the most devastated areas of the state. The bride and groom told the guests that the ceremony is postponed indefinitely.

And when they had Breakfast in Orlando on Sunday morning, one of his colleagues said, «Hey, why do not you get married during a hurricane?!».

Lauren told the Associated Press that it all started as a joke, but in the end they really got married. At the wedding there were dozens of people – both longtime friends, and strangers from all over the country who came to the aid of Florida. Someone even brought a bouquet of flowers for the bride.

«My wedding dress is already bought, and it’s waiting for me at home. But, you know, I love my shape so that’s all right,» smiles Lauren.
It never occurred to me to ask for a few days to play normal wedding.

«Service and duty are more important than personal,» says Michael. «It’s a great story one day to tell the children.»
