The U.S. is experiencing not the best times in the fight against drug addiction. This year’s opioid crisis was declared a national disaster in connection with a sharp increase in overdose deaths. Many attribute this to the large-scale spread of deadly drug – synthetic fentanyl, the dose is 2-3 mg may lead to death.
In new York the problem of death from an overdose also is very serious compared with the year 2016, 40% more people died from an overdose. That’s why the police is trying to throw the maximum force on the removal of the deadly substances.
In raids conducted from 1 August to 5 September, Federal and local authorities for the fight against drugs jointly discovered the largest in U.S. history, amount of pure fentanyl – 140 pounds. In addition, they seized 75 pounds of fentanyl, mixed with heroin, and large amounts of heroin and cocaine.

A deadly combination of fentanyl and heroin this year takes more lives than murder, said district attorney district Queens Richard brown.
Authorities believe that discovered fentanyl came from Mexico, where drug cartels are linking opioid chemical precursor, imported from China. According to investigators, the drugs were pre-mixed before the suspects acquired them.
