The Church forbade the woman to be a volunteer due to the fact that she was Jewish and a lesbian

According to Channel 2 News, a woman from Texas, who worked as volunteers and helped the victims of hurricane Harvey was suspended by the Church from performing its functions after it became known that she was Jewish and a lesbian.

Carmen Hicks, a veteran of the Vietnam war, simply could not sit idly by while her compatriots from his native Texas was suffering from the effects of hurricane Harvey. The woman decided to become a volunteer and sent all their forces to help the victims. On the main place of work, Hicks moved to part time to concentrate on volunteering. But the good intentions of the women were «not needed» after the Church where foodbank volunteers worked, became aware of her homosexual and a different religion.

The situation escalated suddenly. One of the volunteers who worked with Hicks in foodbank noticed that at the end of each prayer the woman says «Shalom». Once the curator foodbank asked her why she said so. The woman answered the truth: «I’m a Jew (Jewess)».

The next day at Church became aware of the fact that in the two decades Hicks lives with a woman and educates her two children. This information caused the condemnation.

Another day later, Hicks was invited to interview the head foodbank. Looking into the eyes of a woman, the boss asked: «are You a Christian?». Hicks replied that she was a Jewess. In response, the Director stated that the woman could no longer volunteer at the Church.

Stunned the woman the next day went to the pastor of the Church Ron Hindu and he completely clarified the situation. Pastor Hicks said that increasingly her work in foodbank no longer possible because of her sexual orientation. He said that when a woman is conscious of his sin and let God in your heart, then everything will work out.

Later, responding to the controversy that arose about the situation in the social network Facebook, the pastor said that he had not said anything.

«I never said she can’t work here. I told her I have Jewish friends. I all the time go to Israel … In the Church there are people who are gays and lesbians,» wrote Hind.
