Residents of Puerto Rico are dying from leptospirosis

A month later after hurricane Maria left Puerto Rico, practically destroying the island, people continue to die. Now – from sickness, the cause of which also became a hurricane.

Leptospirosis affects the liver, kidneys, brain, can cause blood clotting. With timely treatment to the doctor, the disease is treated with antibiotics.

Outbreaks of leptospirosis usually occur after floods or heavy rains, and almost 30% of the inhabitants of Puerto Rico are still without water.
