This weekend in new York, held screenings of a controversial film by Alexei Uchitel «Matilda». Before the premiere news Agency TASS wrote that the tape will be released «in wide release in North American cities. The movie, depicting some pages the personal life of the Emperor Nicholas II, caused so much interest of the American public that the organizers had to introduce a screening of the film».
According to the organizers of the show,»none of the Russian films has not yet aroused in US such attention».
In new York a car was limited to two days: the film was screened at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, one of Manhattan College. At the entrance on the opening Saturday of the show the audience was expecting a group of protesters from 17 people.
As stressed by the activists, the artistic value of the film anything had. The picket was aimed directly against the Director Alexey Uchitel, in March 2014, signed a letter in support of the annexation of Crimea by Russia.
«The idea behind the protest is not in [«Matilda»], and that the Director is a bad person — explains activist and journalist Julia Gorodetskaya — the Film could be a masterpiece, we would still come out.»
According to Julia, the part of the audience «was genuinely surprised that he [the Teacher] signed the infamous letter.» Due to issues of «Matilda» in Russia, its Director often considered a member of the opposition.
«Really a lot of people didn’t know and asked to take leaflets and read everything. Was, in General, but with the sediment.»
However, many picket displeased.
«Recommended to go to drink tea and be left alone high art. — says Julia — They believe that we are paid what we are old prostitutes and the homeless. … But leave the real people of creative professions».
Julia adds that in the second and last time was on Sunday morning. «That’s all wide release — more impressions will not.»

The organizer of the protest was organized by public organization SIGNERBUSTERS previously conducted a picket calling to boycott the concerts by Gergiev and Matsuev in new York.
