The U.S. state Department on Friday said he is ready to launch a new alert system American tourists traveling to other countries, about threats to their safety during travel. Therefore, the Department intends to strengthen the protection of Americans abroad.
«The state Department improve the existing relationship with the citizens of the United States in order to provide accurate, timely and reliable information about security in the world,» said assistant Secretary of state for consular Affairs Carl riche.
The system will be introduced in January 2018 and is likely to be available on the Department’s website, however, aware of some details. All countries under the plan will be divided into 4 categories.
Category 1 – just normal precautions
Category 2 — Be careful when visiting the country
Category 3 – please Reconsider your decision to visit the country
Category 4 — do Not travel to this country
Division is conditional, and recommendatory and not mandatory. Citizens are not prohibited to visit the country, for example, Category 4, if it is not expressly prohibited by the US government.
Assignment to one category or another, the situation in foreign countries will be evaluated according to several parameters, including the crime rate, terrorism, communal riots, the development of the health system and the existence of epidemics, the presence of natural disasters, elections, referendums, etc.
