Caution: in Miami to spray insecticide against mosquitoes

A large area of Miami on Friday evening will be processed aerosol spraying insecticide to combat mosquitoes. The operation will begin at 8 PM. Such measures the authorities have decided to take in response to the large number of complaints from residents on active reproduction of these insects.

Areas where the insecticide will be sprayed include: Homestead, Florida City, Redlands, West Kendall, and areas East of U.S. 1 from S.W. 248th Street to the Rickenbacker Causeway, covering part of the Palmetto Bay, Cutler Bay, South Miami, Coral Gables, Pinecrest and Miami.

Controversial in the application of a chemical accidentally caused the death of millions of honeybees in South Carolina last year, and some officials warn about its potential dangers for pregnant women, whose children in the future may acquire behavioral problems.

Insecticide (Naled) that was sprayed last summer in areas at risk of zika virus in Miami — Wynwood and South Beach, been banned in the European Union, but approved for use by the Agency for environmental protection of U.S. and Florida.

Local officials say that the applied drug is safe for humans in small doses, but people with severe allergic reactions, asthma as a precaution, should remain in the room at the time of spraying.
