The electrician damaged the ceiling for $12 million in the new York public library

At work anything can happen. It is possible to break something, such as a vase or something to damage, such as a chair. The cost of such damage is unlikely to tighten more than a hundred dollars. But there are incidents and more serious. So, an electrician who worked at the new York public library, «accidentally damaged» (namely, pierced through) recently renovated with plaster ceiling reliefs, worth neither more nor less — $ 12 million. Part of the plaster just fell on the floor. The ceiling is iconic and the most valuable element of the architecture in the Rose Main Reading Room, and now it is damaged.

Fortunately, during incident nobody has suffered.

Press Secretary of the library, Angela Montefinise said the electrician «lost a prop and accidentally punctured the ceiling, resulting in two small pieces of plaster fell on the floor.»

«The ceiling has been inspected, it is considered to be safe, so a reading room was opened again in 30 minutes», — she added.
