Years of growth in sales has led to the fact that a few factories for the production of vinyl records in the United States, Japan and other countries can hardly meet the demand for desired goods. It is reported that Sony plan includes the ability to record vinyl records to order.

Sony has made a significant contribution to the end of the era of vinyl, creating a Walkman and delivered one of the developers of the CD format. Although sales of music on digital media in recent years has been called into question with the emergence of audio streaming services such as Spotify, Pandora and others, many young people buy records with songs that they enjoy listening to in streaming services.

Fans of vinyl enthusiastically talking about the rich sound of the records, admire the covers of albums and noted that the annotations to the recorded compositions enables them to feel a stronger bond with the music they love.

Sony has already established a special recording equipment to work with vinyl in the Studio in Tokyo. It is scheduled to begin in spring 2018 , almost three decades after 1989, the company recorded their latest vinyl record.
