New Yorkers condemned for life for the murder of two «witches» with a hammer

On Thursday, July 6, the Supreme court of Queens issued a final sentence for 48-year-old Carlos Alberto Amarillo, quinsam living in new York. The man was convicted of two counts of murder in the first degree. The victims were 56-year-old Estrella Castaneda, with which Amarillo was romance, and her 25-year-old daughter Lena.

It happened around midnight on 29 January 2014, at the home of Castaneda. Entering the bedroom, where slept Estrela, Carlos covered her face with a pillow, and then began to strike at her head with his hammer. He did it with such force that the tool has come off the handle.

«Having dealt» with Estrelas, Amarillo went to the bedroom Lina, you were waiting for the same fate – the young woman died of blows to the head. In the next room was her seven year old daughter, but Carlos didn’t.

He called 911 and confessed that he committed the murder of two women, whom he considers a witch, and asked the police to quickly arrive.

“I killed them because they are witches sending spells. I want the police killed me. I killed them with a hammer. Come to a man named Amarillo”, – he said.

When the police arrived at the scene, Amarillo approached them with a Bible in his hand and said that Estrela and Lena practiced voodoo magic and sends him curse, because of what he was feeling sick.

Subsequently, Carlos was charged with murder, weapon use and exposure risk the child’s well-being. He was sentenced to two life terms without the right of parole. Whether the lawyer Amarillo to appeal against this decision is still unknown.
