Lovely, neat house located on the roof of a five-story residential building at 72 E. First St, often notice pedestrians and photographers. But who built this city a miracle, it became known recently. Currently, the cottage is owned by Gail Barrett, Chardy, widow of the artist, architect and activist Henry Mervyn Chardy, who created this fabulous area in the heart of a bustling metropolis.

The New York Post reports that, Chardy had bought the building in 1980, when it was in a terrible state. He gave it up and joined the last two floors to create a spacious apartment for his family, adding to it as the icing on the cake, the cottage on the roof.

Now a widow, Chardy is selling a duplex apartment and a cottage for 3.5 million dollars. If the apartment is, in fact, it is not unusual (three bedrooms, 2.5 bath), the fairy house is a full-fledged residential area familiar to new York’s compact size. It is planned as a Studio apartment with small kitchen and bathroom, French Windows and a spinning deck.
