What will the next US stealth fighter be?

The military company Lockheed Martin presented new images of what the fighter might look like future USA. Photos can be found on the company website. The aircraft bears the somewhat cumbersome designation Next Generation of Air Dominance (NGAD).

The photos were actually released to promote the new LMXT tanker concept. What's interesting about these photos is that it's not just a tanker, but a tanked aircraft, which is most likely an NGAD project.
The photo shows a diamond-shaped jet designed as a flying wing, similar to the iconic B2 bomber. The engines are visible from the rear. The corresponding air intakes cannot be seen; they may be on the underside. It's also possible that Lockheed intentionally left the holes out of the images. The design of air intakes is one of the biggest challenges for jet aircraft, which should not be detected by conventional airspace detection systems.

Tight Secrecy

Details about the NGAD program are scant, and it maintains a high level of secrecy. One of the few certainties is that this is an extremely expensive project. It will likely be the most expensive fighter jet program the United States has ever undertaken.
