Chicago transportation company Metra will develop and will establish on subway platforms and signs for suicide prevention.
Metra has partnered with experts in the field of mental health to come up with ideas for posters. They write in addition to the hotline of psychological assistance, the messages that give desperate people hope. And perhaps a potential suicide’s mind to make a fateful step.
«When people are killed on the railway, in the subway, this incident affects not only the family of the deceased, and subway workers, drivers, passengers,» — said CBS Chairman of the Board Metra Norman Carlson. «This is a crisis that will be overcome.»
With the beginning of the year in Chicago 16 people committed suicide by throwing himself under a train. In 2016, there were 20, and in 2015, the year recorded 19 cases.
