According to government statistics, the most affected region is the province of Lombardy in the Northern part of the country, which killed 3095 people, and more than 25 000 people were infected.
As reported by the New York Post, Italy is one of the first countries in Europe to introduce strict measures against travel and quarantine, but police reported more than 70,000 violations since the introduction of restrictions on March 11.
On Friday, Italian police recorded more than 10,000 violations of the quarantine.
