New York City Guide: Which excursions to visit? Manhattan

The largest city in the United States of America is filled with brightness, freedom, traffic, skyscrapers and lights. The Manhattan district is called the heart of the city. This is the smallest area, but the most visited among tourists. The popular Broadway street is also located here, with numerous shops, cafes, restaurants and many other remarkable places for walking.

Also in the first area under consideration, it is worth paying attention, which is impossible not to do, to the skyscrapers. The most famous of all is the Empire State Building, recognized by tourists from the adventure film «King Kong».

On Fifth Avenue there is the opportunity to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece — the Guggenheim Museum. The building captivates everyone's gaze: endless triangles and squares, a spiral ramp, the flow of one figure into another. Contemporary art is exactly what this place is filled with. It is filled with exhibitions of individual continents and civilizations.

Central Park is another recommended place to visit in the area. The large lawn, the largest Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis reservoir, the alley, the Bethesda fountain — all these places are unlikely to fit into a visit in one day, but it is worth it. There is an atmosphere of tranquility all around; in one place you can get the feeling of time standing still, and in another you can have a picnic, play badminton or dance.

Brooklyn

The second place in popularity is occupied by Brooklyn; the peripheral area has long been the successor to Manhattan. A huge number of gourmet restaurants and cafes, shops and entertainment directly compete with the latter.

There is a bridge over the East River, named after the city. The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest. It offers mesmerizing panoramas, works of art are dedicated to it, depicted in paintings and filmed in films.

Founded in 1895, the Brooklyn Museum is currently listed on the US National Register of Historic Places. It has a huge number of collections — more than 1.5 thousand exhibits. Exhibitions of pearls of European art, products of ancient Egypt, Greek sculpture — all this will not leave you indifferent and will leave a lot of impressions and emotions. About 500 exhibits represent a collection from the reign of Akhenaten to Cleopatra VII. You can also see African products: sculptures, ceramics, masks and figurines.

Street art lovers should take a stroll through Bushwick. Street art is legal in this area. Every year, indescribably beautiful exhibitions and competitions are held. Here, street art is uniquely filled with meaning and harmony.

Bronx

The fourth largest borough in New York is the Bronx. To a large extent, this area is considered a residential area, however, some of the most important attractions are located here. The first place to visit is the Bronx Zoo. This park is considered one of the largest in the country, the number of individuals exceeds 6 thousand. A large amount of entertainment, of course, cannot fit into one day of walking: the world of the jungle, a butterfly garden, numerous exhibitions and attractions.

The second place to visit in our selection is the Botanical Garden. One of the largest green places will appeal to nature lovers. Exhibitions of orchids, all kinds of flowers, tropical and temperate flora deserve special attention and penetration into the depths of the human soul.

New York is a city of opportunities, a city of walks, finance and new discoveries. An industrial center, but including so many attractions and attractive places, it will not leave any of the tourists cold.
