Weather can disrupt the plans of millions of travellers on the eve of thanksgiving. As reported by forecasters, the cold air, icy wind and a storm will visit the residents of the Midwest and northeast.

This weekend the first rains reach the North-Eastern States and the Great lakes region of possible precipitation in the form of snow.

According to AccuWeather chief meteorologist Elliot Abrams, during the week weather will change frequently, and the temperature can be very low, typical for November, and frosty, as at the end of December.

On Saturday, November 18, in Chicago will have the first cold that is «going» on the southern States. From Saturday to Sunday the temperature will drop to 20 F (-6℃).

In New England and along interstate 95 in the afternoon will be mild weather with a temperature of 50 F (10℃). But during the day, when the cold air gets to these areas, it will gradually fall.

Across the northeast Saturday night and Sunday winds can reach 50 miles per hour.

«[This] could lead to falling trees and power outages,» says lead meteorologist AccuWeather Floor of Pustelak.

Gusts of wind can influence motorists to be more careful on the turns. And passengers who were going to travel by plane, you will need to take into account that during the flight they may encounter turbulence.

Recall, the weather service is testing a new alert system about impending snow storms, to try to protect drivers from fatal accidents.
