On Sunday afternoon around Wichita wind gusts reached 61 mph (98 km/h), but because of the snow storms on the roads visibility was almost zero. Authorities have restricted traffic on interstate 70.

In some cities in Missouri, Iowa and Kansas, the storm did not abate 3-4 hours. In Kansas city had the snow day in the entire history of weather observations in the city since 1895.
