May snow: northeast USA will be hit by the bad weather

It’s the middle of may, but winter, apparently intends to push the spring from the North-Eastern States, because this week in the region calls for snow.

According to CNN meteorologist Gene Norman, early Tuesday, may 14, a cold atmospheric front moving out of Canada will bring snow and rain in new Hampshire, Vermont and most of Northern Maine.

«Wet snow, in particular, is expected in Montpellier (Vermont), and Portland (Maine),» said Norman, adding that if Portland will be a snowfall, this will be the record for the «late» day of the year, when it recorded the snow. The previous record was registered on may 11, 1945.

The weekend snow has already passed in some parts of Western Massachusetts.

The same low pressure system that brought bad weather in the Atlantic States, had previously caused flooding and severe storms in the Southeast.

Sunday, may 12, the Governor of Mississippi Phil Bryant declared a state of emergency after storms and floods that began on Wednesday. Several districts reported heavy flooding in two districts swept by a devastating tornado.

Over the weekend in South Texas held showers and thunderstorms.

In the centre of weather forecasting the National weather service reported that on the coast of Texas and Western Louisiana fell from 300% to 600% of normal rainfall at this time of year.

According to meteorologists, on Monday, may 13, in the Great lakes region formed a new area of low atmospheric pressure, which, in all probability, will bring rain to the capital of the United States, as well as in new York and Boston (Massachusetts).
