In the Christian Canon is a prophecy that one day Jesus will return to earth. But who would have thought that it would happen so soon, and even in southern Siberia. There lives a man who claims that he is the reincarnation of the son of God.

Sergei Torop, 56, last military and police officer, says that having lived half of his life he finally realized who is really is. The man now calls himself Vissarion, lives in the Siberian wilderness at the same time with two wives and says to his disciples about reincarnation, vegetarianism and the coming Apocalypse.

The Guardian writes that Vissarion leads the Church of the Last Testament, the number of followers which includes the villages of Kuraginsky district in the South of Siberia. The parishioners of this Church abide by strict rules: they are vegetarians, they are not allowed to smoke, drink alcohol and even to touch money as it is considered sinful.

Newspaper the Mirror reports that the purpose of this religious community to unite all religions of the Earth.

Vissarion himself is usually dressed in white, and wears long hair and a beard. His community he calls «the Siberian utopia», which since 1990-ies settled more than 5000 followers. Many of these people left the familiar life, abandon a successful career and their families in order to follow the man they call «teacher».

The self-proclaimed religious leader preaches to his flock that soon the mankind waits for the great flood, but everyone who has seen the truth and joined the circle of his followers will be saved.

Journalist Bi-bi-si, Simon Reeve personally talked with Vissarion, in order to gather material for a documentary, which will air this Thursday. He says that the community is rather «creepy things», for example, local school children dismantle seven-volume continuation of the Bible, written by none other than Vissarion. In addition, there is some semblance of «Institute of noble maidens», where girls are taught to be «good wives of decent men.» In the opinion of the followers of Vissarion, a perfect bride should be humble, submissive, invisible and weak, so as not to overshadow his incomparable spouse.

Reeve also asked Vissarion on allegations of «brainwashing» and the extortion of money, what the religious leader said that such slander makes him feel «sad».

At the end of the interview, the reporter noted that before the change all of humanity, Bessarion asks its followers to donate money and work for the good of the community to its «business» could develop.
