Canada was allowed to use profanity on the radio

The government of Canada officially eliminated the word «f**k» from the list of forbidden words for transmission in the French language. The reason for its commonness in speech.

We will remind that earlier the Canadian Council on broadcasting standards (CBSC) has classified this word as acceptable only for adults in both French and English, and have banned its use on radio and television outside of the evening broadcast. But even in the evening spectators should be warned about profanity.

However, after complaints from listeners that the French radio station CKOI-FM has twice broadcast clips from the banned word this year, the Council changed its decision. In the first clip, the singer Madonna was sworn in during a women’s March against U.S. President Donald trump. In the second clip, the word was used by the singer of Green Day Billie Joe Armstrong.

CBSC concurred with the argument of the station that «f**k» now «is part of the General French spoken language» and therefore is not «vulgar shadeswhen used on him.» The Council also added: «If the word is used rarely, not as an insult to a specific person, it will be considered acceptable in the context of the program in the French language.»
