All the possible scenarios of development of events in the event of a nuclear attack, the DPRK remains in force, but at the moment the US is not inclined to a military solution to the conflict. This was stated by US special envoy on North Korea Joseph Young.
Today, 1 February, at a press conference in Tokyo, the special envoy said that the United States seeks a peaceful resolution of the North Korean crisis, and why Washington prefers a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
«Our policy is very important for the peaceful resolution of the North Korean nuclear crisis. Again and again we repeat that we want to see dialogue,» said young.
The diplomat statement has sounded next day after President Donald trump called the leadership of North Korea «spoiled». The head of state said that the desire of Pyongyang to nuclear development «pretty soon would jeopardize» the welfare of America and promised to prevent it.
Young also welcomed the dialogue between North and South Korea. The diplomat stressed that any negotiations with Pyongyang, Washington should «be on the steps North Korea will take on the path to denuclearization».
