In Iraq, 19 of Russians sentenced to life in prison for joining ISIS

The criminal court in Baghdad sentenced 19 Russian women to life imprisonment for joining a terrorist group «Islamic state» and its support.

According to media reports, this incident is the latest in a series of severe sentences against foreign women who were associated with the jihadists.

The verdict against the Russians and another six women from Azerbaijan and four from Tajikistan was sentenced today (April 28).

In December 2017, the US President Donald trump said that the U.S. victory over ISIS in Iraq and Syria after members of the group managed to oust all major cities.

After these events in Iraq detained at least 560 women and 600 children, which is considered a jihadists or relatives of suspects of ISIS.

Most of the women in the trial claimed that they did not know about his presence in Iraq.

«I went with my husband and my children to Turkey to live there, and then suddenly found that I was actually in Iraq,» said one of the accused.

According to court sources, the Iraq support ISIS more than 300 people, including dozens of foreigners were sentenced to death.
