The American poet Louise Gluck became the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2020. According to the committee's official statement, the prestigious award went to the Pulitzer-winner «for her distinctive poetic voice,» transforming «individual existence into universal.»
Gluck will also receive a prize of SEK 10 million (over $ 1.1 million).
Previous Nobel Prize winners in Literature include Ernest Hemingway, Toni Morrison, Bob Dylan, Wole Shoinka, and Kazuo Ishiguro.
