Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused presidential candidate Joe Biden of spreading «hatred» towards Russia — after the former vice president said that Russia poses a greater threat to US national security than China.
According to Reuters, Peskov told reporters that Russian officials «absolutely disagree» with the remarks Biden made on the 60 Minutes show last week.
“We can only regret that in this way absolute hatred of the Russian Federation is spreading,” said Peskov, who also denied any attempts to interfere in the 2020 elections by Russia.
During his interview with CBS, Biden said that the Russian Federation is making every possible effort to break the US alliances with other countries — adding that it still considers China to be the US’s biggest economic competitor.
“I think the biggest threat to America right now in terms of our security and our alliances [with other states] is Russia. — said the ex-vice — But China, perhaps, is our main competitor. How we behave will determine whether we remain competitors or enter the arms race. «
