The Governor of new York wants to allocate an additional $250 million for NYCHA

17 Mar Andrew Cuomo appealed to the authorities of new York with a request to invest additional $250 million in housing authority of the state (New York City Housing Authority — NYCHA).

In the budget of new York city has provided $300 million investment in NYCHA, but according to Cuomo, this amount is not enough to clean up public housing.

«At the time, NYCHA has been a model of public housing, but today the conditions are worse than ever. People living in these houses are faced with horrible and absolutely inhuman conditions. They need our help right now, and the administration intends to do everything to the future of these people were bright and good,» said Andrew Cuomo.

At one time, NYCHA was the model of public housing, and now conditions are at the worst they’ve ever been. Tenants living in these intolerable, inhumane conditions need help now—not in four years—and this administration is taking action to ensure a brighter future for NYers.

However, because the state budget already put about $300 million for the Department of housing new York, the chance to get another $250 million is small, experts say.

According to the Governor, to accelerate the process of modernization and renovation Fund, under the management of NYCHA is required to bring the matter to an independent contractor.

«We need an independent contractor to efficiently execute the work as NYCHA leadership recognized that not cope with the tasks. When they say that they will require 4 years to carry out all necessary works as they imagine it? Four years without heat and mold? You need to hire professionals who know how to work quickly and efficiently,» — said the Governor.

Also, the Governor of new York called on to assist in this issue President Donald trump.

«If he really wants to make America great, it needs to allocate this money,» — said Cuomo.
