The Israeli military expressed condolences over the downed Il-20, which contained 15 Russian military.
In an official statement made today, September 18, the Israeli defense Ministry, said that «full responsibility» for the downed over Syria a Russian military plane carries the Syrian government. Moreover, Israel believes that this tragedy also involved Iran and terrorist organization Hezbollah.
«The Israeli air force attacked targets of the Syrian army, which produced weapons of mass destruction for the terrorist organization «Hezbollah». The Syrian army is not convinced that the air is not Russian aircraft. When Syrian troops fired missiles, Israeli planes were already in its territory», — reads the statement of Israel.
During the investigation of the incident Israel will share all the information with Russia, said Israeli defense Ministry.
Earlier, the Russian defense Ministry said that Israeli F-16 fighters «hid behind a Russian aircraft», substituting it under attack missiles.
On Board the Il-20 were 15 people, all of them died. The Russian side stated that it considers «provocative Israeli actions as hostile.»
