The storm front that came from the South by Kern County Channel Islands, staged a dramatic «lightning show» in the skies of southern California.
It happened on Tuesday evening, March 5.

According to Katie, Choksi, meteorologist from the National weather service in Oxnard, a five-minute period of time about 20 PM weather service state registered 1489 flashes of lightning off the coast of, 231 — over district of Santa Barbara and 40 in the County of Los Angeles.
«For this time of year is a lot. This usually does not happen, — said the meteorologist. — Similar to the «lightning show» to happen in California in the desert during the summer monsoon season. But not in February.»

Recall, this is not the only weather anomaly of winter, which had to face the angels this season. Not so long ago in Malibu, Los Angeles and Pasadena, the snow fell.
It is expected that today, March 6, a storm system moved into Ventura County.
A Delta airlines plane shortly after taking off from Los Angeles to Seattle returned to the airport due to a lightning strike. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Later that evening, a bolt of lightning caused a brief power outage in three airport terminals LA.

Forecasters warn: to admire the lightning better from the premises, since lightning can strike 10 to 12 miles from the center of the storm.
