Shocking footage from surveillance cameras show the moment a police officer falls to the ground a few seconds after touching potentially deadly drug.

Sergeant Jim Warring of the police Department of Bartlesville (Oklahoma) wore gloves when you picked what is considered a wrapper from under fentanyl – and after a few seconds fell to the ground.

Fortunately for the Sergeant Warringah, his quick-witted colleagues acted quickly and gave him Narcanto counteract the drug.

The police Department said that the Warringah packaged methamphetamine, which was brought by the police after the arrest of the suspect. Apparently, meth can be mixed with fentanyl.

«I don’t know what would have happened if they hadn’t acted so quickly. It was the first time we had to use Narcan. I was very lucky that he was available,» said the Sergeant channel KTUL.

Speaking about the risks faced by police officers when dealing with drugs, he added:

«All the evidence and things that we face every day, can hurt us.»

According to the U.S. government, the synthetic opioid fentanyl is approximately 50-100 times stronger than morphine.

The drug causes serious side effects and life-threatening symptoms. In case of overdose fentanyl breathing may slow down or stop. Hypoxia, in turn, can lead to coma, permanent brain damage and even death.
