Amazon opens new office in Manhattan and invited 2,000 people to work

The Governor of the state of new York Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday that soon in the Western part of Manhattan, will open a new office Amazon.

The contract of property lease was signed with Brookfield Property Partners for 15 years. The equipment in the space will cost the company $55 million.

It is expected that the office will start in 2018. Over the next three years to hire 2,000 new employees in the departments of Finance, sales, marketing, design and information technology.

City authorities have promised that the average annual wage of workers, Amazon will be $100,000.

“The further expansion of Amazon in new York is proof that our strong economic climate, rich labor resources and talents to help attract first-class companies from around the world,” said Andrew Cuomo.

He added: «We will continue to support the growth of the business sector of this state, which in turn contributes to economic growth and creation of high-quality, well-paying jobs in the «Imperial state»».

Support, talked about Cuomo, is carried out by providing companies a tax credit of $20 million.

It is noteworthy that two weeks ago Amazon announced plans to open on Staten island its new logistics terminal, which will be used advanced technology. It will create 2,250 jobs.
