On Thursday the teacher to be replaced in one of the schools in Vermont was fired after teaching the third graders a lesson about how to give the Nazi salute.
As NYDailyNews reports, the incident occurred in the town of Georgia, when the teacher, who already for a long time was replaced by another teacher, spoke with students of the third class at Georgia Elementary & Middle School.
«I’m just in disbelief,» said Friday in an interview for the local newspaper, the inspector of the Supervisory Board Franklin West Ned Kirsch. «People are shocked. The people I talked to can’t find the words».
Kirsch has notified parents with a letter in which he said that the children «stood with outstretched hands in front of him, the teacher showed how to do it right. Then she raised her hand and asked the children:»And now we say, Heil Hitler.»
According to Kirsch, the teacher was fully aware that she does and says. After the incident, she was immediately relieved of his duties. The management refused to divulge the name of the offending teacher.
She has taught this school for many years, but nothing like this has ever happened.
Guide brought to parents apologizing for the incident, saying that such «totally unacceptable».
