Us retailers against trump tariffs on imports from China

Major retail company Wal-Mart Stores Inc, Target Corp, Best Buy Co Inc and Macy’s Inc on Monday appealed to Trump the letter with the request not to impose huge tariffs on the import of goods from China. In their opinion, the President’s plan will lead to the fact that prices for retail goods in the domestic U.S. market will take off.

The administration trump’s plans to raise tariffs on imports from China as part of anti-investment policies of Beijing and a way to force China to change its attitude to intellectual property of other States. Fares (about $60 billion) will affect all Chinese goods — from electronics to clothes.

In response to the conclusions on the violation of intellectual property rights government can use 301 trade Treaty and to impose unilateral tariffs without the approval of Congress.

On Monday another letter, signed by 82 companies (Nike Inc., Genesco, Payless ShoeSource Inc, Under Armor, Shoe Carnival Inc. and Weyco Group), laid on the table trump. It also contained the request not to impose sanctions on imports from China and warning about the inevitable consequences for ordinary consumers and loss of jobs.
