Kidnapped a teenage girl from Minnesota was able to escape after the monthsspent in captivity by the kidnappers.
15-year-old Jasmine Unit was stolen in early August in Alexandria. As it became known later, the kidnappers were three: a 32-year-old Thomas Barker, a 31-year-old Joshua Holby and 20-year-old Steven powers. The police reported that one of the men the girl was familiar.
8 Aug they lured Jasmine into the car under some pretext and taken to the house where the girl was repeatedly subjected to physical and sexual violence.
«Barker tied her up, and then he, his housemate and their buddy in the next few weeks, raped her and threatened with weapons,» — said the head of the police Department of Alexandria Rick Wyffels.
On Tuesday, September 5th, the kidnappers for the first time left the Jasmine one, and she managed to escape, reports news channel KARE. The girl knocked at a few houses in the neighborhood, but nobody opened. Then she jumped into the water and swam across the lake Thompson. Lying on the shore, a farm, she ran down there and a local resident called 911.
«This is an incredible young lady,» said Rick Wyffels. «She’s very strong.»
Three suspects on the same day was arrested. They charged on several counts, including kidnapping and violence.
