Residents of new Jersey are warning about the activity of the coyotes after last Thursday, five animals pounced on a woman with a dog in the Saddle RiverCounty of Bergen.
Mariam Rackham told NBC News he was out walking with his little dog Bijou on Oak Road, when out of the bushes came five coyotes.
«They looked at my dog and bared their teeth. When it began to approach and surround, it was very scary,» says Mariam. According to her, to escape from animals managed by luck – nearby heard the loud sound of the car horn, which startled the coyotes.
For Saddle River, this situation is not new. So, in 2015, within one month there were from four attacks of coyotes.
Police warn residents not to leave small children and Pets on the street unattended. In addition, it is recommended to carry a gas canister and not to feed the coyotes.
«If people leave outright garbage or pet food in their yards, it lures coyotes. And they lose their fear of people,» — said the police captain Jason Cosgriff.
