The immigration and customs service, the U.S. arrested more than two dozen illegal immigrants during a RAID in November this year. Most of the arrested persons previously convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

According to officials, all but one of 25 people arrested in November, had a prior conviction. One man — a 35-year-old previously deported, a citizen of Honduras, was arrested for violation of immigration rules. He was also charged with assault. Another 40-year-old citizen of El Salvador was identified as an alleged member of the gang MS-13.

«This operation was aimed at those who have been convicted of driving while intoxicated. Some of them were carrying children,» said Thomas Decker, ICE’s representative in new York.

«Due to the incredibly large number of road accidents and related deaths DUI, ICE will continue to arrest and deport these illegals for the safety of the residents of our city,» he added.
