Parents tried to sell children for drugs

According to the Sheriff’s Department of Los Angeles, a married couple in Lancaster tried to sell their children or exchange them for drugs. Police responded to a report of maltreatment of children in the 100 block of Avenue J-8, received on Thursday. Arriving at the place, they found that the pair trades two young sons to get drugs.

Two boys, both of whom are under the age of 14 years, was transferred to the care of the district’s Department of the family, while investigators find out whether there are other people involved in this case of blatant violations of children’s rights. Would-be parents, Vincent Calogero, age 38, and Sarah Nielson, 32, was arrested on suspicion of leaving children in danger of neglect of duty in respect of a child and for being under the influence of psychotropic substances. The pair will return to court Wednesday for a hearing on the issue of bail, which was set at $ 100,000.
