His friend, who was with the child, began to call for help. At the scene was Sergeant Aaron Thompson, who immediately proceeded to the rescue of the boy. According to Thompson, he first tried to break the ice with your hands. After unsuccessful attempts he started to jump, so that, in the end, punched a hole in newly formed ice.

Diving under the water, the rescuer is not immediately able to find the boy. Thompson noted that the water was clean, which helped. After some time he found a child who was already in the water for about 30 minutes.

On the question of how to feel, proclaimed a hero, Thompson noted that he just happened to be in place first. He stressed that it was the work of all rescue teams, medical teams, etc. Thompson assured that anyone in his place would have done just as well, so he doesn’t consider the rescue of the boy, only its merit.
