Astoria snapped cargo with crane: 2 wounded and 1 person trapped

Cargo with crane crane broke down at a construction site in Queens, Tuesday afternoon. Two people badly hurt, 1 can’t get out from under the rubble.

Firefighters arrived to a 2-storey building on 28th Road in Astoria in 15 hours. One man was carried out of the building on a stretcher. He was conscious, but he’s got serious damaged, authorities said. The second wounded man also was sent to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition. Another person can’t get out of the basement, and firefighters are clearing the debris to free him.

Firefighters report that broke only cargo, the crane fell. The weight landed on a house. The roof has been hole. Part of the fire Department provided first aid to the injured, while others began to quickly disassemble the bricks and rubble in the basement of the building.

According to information from the Department of Building, the building of semi-detached houses for 2 families reconstructed in 3-apartment.
