Migrant killed in Rio Bravo (TX) shot in the head, carried out by an agent of the border patrol. The incident occurred in broad daylight and was partially filmed by a random witness.
According to representatives of customs and border protection (A us Customs and Border Patrol – CBP), the message was received about the illegal activities, and verifying headed one of the agents of the customs service. Near the drainage pipe, he noticed a few people (who were immigrants) and tried to detain them. In response, they attacked the officer, armed with a «blunt object». Then came the shootout in which he killed a woman. CBP has not reported whether the victim is armed.
According to Marta Martinez, who lives near the scene, she heard a gunshot around 12:20 and headed there to take pictures of the event via broadcast on Facebook. Get close enough, Martinez saw lying on the ground woman. When the border patrol agents turned over her left side of her face was all covered with blood, said the eyewitness in an interview with BuzzFeed News.
Martinez does not believe that the officers came under attack. At the time of the shooting the deceased woman lying in the grass, so the witness of the incident suggested that she was just trying to hide. Martinez also said that the detained men were not in the hands of the stones.
The investigation of the incident is the FBI, in cooperation with the Texas Rangers.
This is not the first human death at the hands of CBP agent. In early April, a patrolman Ronald Anthony Burgos Aviles killed a woman and ee-year-old child near the border of c Mexico, then called 911 and reported that accidentally found their bodies.
