Sunday, 5 August, tourists from Oklahoma, walking from the East river, suddenly noticed water in the little body. As reported by one of the witnesses — Austin Campbell, his father immediately jumped into the river in the hope of saving the child.
«That was weird… I didn’t expect to see that, when we came here,» he told Austin reporters WABC. — My mom, she was here, and she just stared at the water and suddenly asked my father, shouting: «the water-child!»»

According to Austin, they called the police, and his father, a doctor by profession, tried to bring the baby to life. Police came to the rescue carried him, still unconscious on the footpath. After cardiopulmonary resuscitation, he was sent to the hospital, but all efforts were in vain — the child died.
The police Department of new York (NYPD) sets, as an 8-month-old baby in a diaper was in the river. His parents at the scene was not. According to law enforcement, visible injuries the baby had.

How long the boy was in the water, is also unknown. One of the witnesses noticed that next to the baby floated backpack. The coast guard NYPD asks you to contact anyone who has any information about a child, call 1-800-577-TIPS.
