90 stab wounds on the face of the son: man faces life in prison for the murder of his wife

The jury acknowledged the 34-year-old Jeremiah Monella guilty of murdering his 35-year-old wife Tara O’shea-Watson in Commercial Township (new Jersey).

18 December 2016, a week before Christmas, the Jeremiah Monell came to his wife, with whom they lived separately, violating a restraining order. Between them, a quarrel broke out. The crazed man grabbed a knife. According to the forensic examination, Monell struck his wife about 90 stab wounds. Witness the massacre was their 12-year-old son.

During testimony, the boy told how in horror watched the scene. He heard the mother say I was smothering her husband to «let her die in peace.» «You weren’t supposed to see,» said Monell son.

According to prosecutors, the boy cried all night and in the morning, grabbing a little sister, rushed to the neighbor and said from the doorway: «my Mother is no more. Dad killed her.»

The murderer was arrested after 2 weeks on Factory Road, in a wooded area in Atlantic County. On one of the knives found in the house Monella, left a bloody imprint of his palm.

Friends and family Tara O’shea-Watson say she wanted to move with the children to Tennessee, away from her husband.

According to court documents, Jeremiah of Monell before beating the wife. For the first time about it it became known in April 2016. Then the court banned the man approach the house where lived a woman with children. In August of the same year he was charged with domestic violence, but they were later removed at the request of the O’shea-Watson. She wanted to file for divorce.

In October 2018 Monell refused to sign the agreement on the plea, under which he could receive 30 years imprisonment to life imprisonment. Now he faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

The U.S. Supreme court will issue a verdict March 1.

In addition to his son and daughter Jeramie Monella Tara O’shea, Watson had 3 children.
