Sunday, January 20, 29-year-old Congresswoman from the Democratic party Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined the marathon Donkey Kong 64 on videostreaming Twitch service to help raise money for transgender people.
Initially with the charity initiative was made by the British Harry Brevis, known online as Hbomberguy (For his YouTube channel he takes a humorous and educational videos on political topics.)
Raising funds for Mermaids , a human rights organization, acting in support of transgender young people — began on Friday, January 18. To participate, people had to play the classic game of Donkey Kong 64, released in 1999.

According to the post Mermaids on Twitter, Sunday night Brevis has raised more than $350 thousand.

Ocasio-Cortez appeared live on Twitch after Sunday reacted to the statement from Director Aaron Sorkin about what newcomers Democrats should «stop acting like young people».
According to Sorkin, the Democrats should declare that the party is «not just about the bathrooms for transgender people, which they say Republicans are trying to distract». We are talking about laws that require people to use the restroom that corresponds to the sex assigned at birth. LGBT advocates believe that this requirement discriminare transsexuals.
