The NYPD resumed its search for the boy who mysteriously disappeared in 2010

It’s been 9 years since 22 January 2010 7-year-old Patrick Alford disappeared from his foster home in East new York.

Of Alford (the description of the police — it’s a boy African American with a scar on the left eyebrow) was last seen January 22, 2010. Around 21:00 he left his house at 130 Vandalia Ave. The foster mother of Patrick, Librada Moran, was a child when he went missing. Moran told police that he turned around for a minute to empty the trash, and when turned around, the boy was gone.

According to the biological mother of Alford Jennifer Rodriguez, she was «crushed» when child services took Patrick and his little sister Jaylin from custody in 2009. However, at the time, Rodriguez was only 22 and she’s struggling to cope with the maintenance of three children. The woman added that she was allowed to see Patrick and Jaylin in January 2010: if she thought something wrong.

In a foster family 7-year-old boy was only three weeks before disappearing. «He cried and threw chairs. He was screaming «I wanna go home, mommy!»», — says the woman their son last meeting.

According to the court, employees of guardianship services and the Agency for finding adoptive parents St. Vincent Services unreasonably hastily gave Patrick and Jaylin in someone else’s family instead of to leave in the care of relatives, but also ignored the special needs of the child and his existential stress. He regularly tried to escape from the house, began to behave aggressively and show suicidal tendencies. In addition, Alford, who spoke only English, was placed in a family in which the primary language was Spanish.

Since the disappearance of Patrick, the police conducted more than 14,000 interviews and knocked in 9 000 apartments. «There were no arrests associated with the mysterious disappearance of Alford, and the investigation continues,» — said Tuesday the representative of the NYPD. The Department has made a sketch of how a boy was supposed to look like in 14 years.

«If I could, I would tell him he was stronger… what I’m looking for it and never give it up,’ said Jennifer. — I can’t spend the rest of my life not knowing what happened to my son.» This year Patrick will be 16 years of age.

On Tuesday, the police will again conduct a search in the area of spring Creek towers (Brooklyn), where Patrick was last seen. Also offered a reward of $12 000 for any information about the child.
