The vet put live puppies packets of heroin and smuggled them into the US

Thursday, February 7, the Brooklyn Federal court ruled in the case of a veterinarian, Andres Lopez of Alireza.

A man on his farm in Colombia, with the help of surgical procedures, implanted puppies packets of liquid heroin, and then dogs were sent to the United States. So the vet and his backers in the face of drug dealers delivered to America a prohibited substance.

Lopez was sentenced to 72 months in prison. When a man had served his term, the US authorities intend to deport him from the country.

The story begins in the distant 2004. The vet from new York came to the attention of Management on struggle against drugs (DEA), which took the suspicious man in «development». Soon, police learned that the suspect rented a farm in one of the largest cities in Colombia – Medellin. There’s a man together with accomplices organized the nursery, the main purpose of which was the farming of dogs for drug trafficking.

Andres Lopez was put in the living puppies packets of liquid heroin, and then carefully concealed the traces of their intervention. Then the animals were transported to new York, where they were subjected to terrible back surgical procedure. At one time a few puppies could carry up to 3 kg of liquid heroin.

1 January 2005 a task force of Colombian police raided and searched the farm drug. Police found a horrifying scene: a lot of dogs prepared for the next smuggling operation.

In total police found 17 packets of heroin, 10 of which have already been implanted puppies. At least 3 small creation died after the operation due to the lack of suitable sanitary conditions.

Received from Colombian colleagues the evidence in the case of Andres Lopez, law enforcement authorities in new York announced a man wanted. Since the vet was on the run and regularly changed his place of residence.

However, after 10 years he was detained in Spain and in 2018, the offender was extradited to the United States. Thursday, February 7, the Brooklyn Federal court sentenced a man to 6 years in prison. When the attacker had served his sentence, he was being deported from the country.

Unfortunately, the fate of most pups remained unknown. But one of them definitely lucky because got the opportunity to catch the drug dealers red-handed.
